The benefits of starting at a young age are limitless. It relaxes, calms and inspires.

the beginning

Immersed in the lives of international students in Paris, Liz noticed that the majority of the 8 year old’s were stressed and had busier schedules than she. What got Liz through her days was the awareness to stop, breath, move and relax. The kids needed this too. She started incorporating yoga, breath work and movement in her tutoring sessions, noticing improvements immediately. Just a five-minute energizing yoga boost in the middle of a class and calming breath work at the end helped her students focus AND got them excited for the following class. Inspired by the progress, Liz decided to create a program specific for busy students and teachers, incorporating exercises and breathing techniques to find relaxation throughout the day.

our mission

The goal isn't to silence the mind, but to disconnect from thoughts that evoke negative emotions such a anxiety, stress, low self-esteem. We want to teach kids how to connect to themselves. To create a safe space to express themselves while learning to manage their emotions, and navigate this weird world they've found themselves in. This day and age is very scary for children - social media, the expectations put on them, the social and academic pressures.  The Mindfulness Project wants to introduce meditation and mindfulness techniques to help children open themselves up to the present moment. Through carefully constructed exercises that strengthen the mind and help them connect to themselves, they begin to focus better, gain clarity and self-esteem, and work towards their future in a new way.

MOVE!

Having experience working with all ages, I have learned through trail and error of what works. Every Thursday afternoon I teach a yoga workshop for expat kids at an international school in the suburbs of Paris. They range from 7-10 years old.

CREATE!

While yoga is a wonderful tool for kids' flexibility, focus and overall well being, I love to introduce different methods of relaxation. From talking about what we're grateful for to making mala bracelets, we combine the old traditions with current ways.

PLAY!

I love incorporating team work in yoga. Kids who never talk to one another work to make the letters of the alphabet, do poses together and support one another in challenging postures.
